"Likewise a large number of Indian Discoveries in the medical art, Never before published." Full contemporary leather ( sheep almost certainly) with a dark brown title label with gilt letters. Some wear at the top of the spine and the corners but overall very good for an early American and rural binding. Samuel Slater prior owner signature, and in the rear endpaper it says "Samuel Slater paid 50 cents (no date but possibly the original owner. Wheelock Vermont is now a tiny village, and must have been in 1824, a few years after it was settled. It is highly doubtful that there was a doctor in town at that time, and this provides advice on home cures, some herbal. /The book was printed in Danville, Vermont by " Eben'r Eaton", a rather rare, early Vermont imprint. Two volumes in one.
