Full brown calf binding with diagonal lines crossing each other each 3 mm on both boards. Some wear at the corners, but hinges strong. Broad raised bands on the spine and gilt designs on those bands. Bright gilt on the title label and the lower label provides place and date of publication. Sir Digby Mackworth (1789 to 1852) was probably a rising military in the East India Co. when he described the south of India that had been recently wrested from the French )ages 1 to 154). Then he sailed for Europe, seeing Egypt and Palestine on the way (pages 157 to 366).Plus two short appendices. Includes the half title. A little soiling to the page block, but no foxing or stains. There is a stain to the leather along the middle of the front board's outer edge, not affecting anything inside.
