Original brown cloth with bright gilt titles on the front and unfaded spine, and a gilt winged auto on the front cover. The 24 horsepower auto must have looked much like this gilt version, and quite an adventure to wander several thousand miles around France on rudimentary (at best) roads. Top edge gilt, with a bit of edgewear. Inside very clean and hinges tight, with no browning or stains or foxing. Now protected in a clear, mylar dust jacket.
