Very good original maroon cloth with light blue & black horizontal design horizontal across the front cover, and gilt title on the front and spine, with a faded gilt fox also on the spine Bit of wear at the corners and spine ends, now protected in a clear, mylar sleeve. Inside, Very clean with no foxing or stains. Internal hinges are cracked but still solid. Chapters include Malton to Wit, Ashgill and the Osbornes, The York and Ainsty, Hilsdale and Sinnington, Cleveeland and Eskdale, Hunting Round Malton, The Hon. Captain Johnstone's Hounds, Cleveland Rays, and Some Yorkshire Shorthorns. The author lists himself as the Editor of the Cleveland Bay Stud Book. Clearly his life was full of horses and hunting. 8 pages advertisements for chimneys, hotels, horse remidies etc in the back.
