A beautiful book on the building of imperial New Delhi, by the famed British architects Sir Edwin Lutyens and Sir Herbert Baker, based extensively on unpublished documents. The Viceroy's mammoth house and the neighboring center of Government buildings (Secretariat and Legislative chambers) remain a stunning architectural achievement, with its connections to British rule now fading. Pages x, 406 with index. Unclipped dustjacket has no visible wear and is protected by a clear, mylar sleeve. Red cloth has a bit of edgewear but is clean and tight inside and out. No prior owner marks.
