SCARCE. Penzer notes that even by 1923 few copies were available in decent condition. Part One, 65 pages, "Tanganyika to be Ptolemy's Western Lake Reserv oir, a Memoir Read Before the Royal Geographical Society, November 14, 1864 with Prefatory Remarks by Richard F. Burton". Part Two, to page 195, "Captain Speke's Discovery of the Source of the Nile, a Review by James M'Queen" which was scathing. Penzer page 74. Bound as a design, artistic binding in full, light beige morocco, with a dark blue Nile River winding across both boards and the spine. Gilt title and author on the two bands of river crossing the spine. Hand marbled endpapers. Housed in a protective clamshell box, with a dark blue title label, all in fine, new condition.
