Self published by a journalist with the Wasshington Sunday Star from 1928 to 1949, with a three page autobiography and a wondrous collection of stories about people and places in and around Washington in the early 20th Century. In addition to these charming essays, he wrote a five volume history of Washington, published in 1930. He was in charge of the National Museum (Smithsonian) printing office from 1884 to 1931. Black cloth binding with no wear, and gilt titles on front and spine, protected in a clear, mylar dustjacket. Inside, very clean and tight, with no stains or browning or prior owner marks.
