Larger than the 20 shilling A & C Black series, thia ia copy 53 of only 350 and signed by the fine watercolor artist, Australian Mortimer Menpes. He talked the publisher into using his daughter as the author, an experiment that was not repeated. Cream cloth with a lovely design of green and brown lines aand vines, with bright gilt title on the front and the unfaded spine. Top edge gilt. Edgewear at the bottom edge and less soiling than usual on the ccream cloth, which was the standard binding for the Black limited editions. Very nice inside, with no browning or foxing or prior owner marks.
