Original green cloth with gilt decoration and title on the front and the spine. Some wear at the spine ends and corners. All edges gilt Original pale yellow endpapers, with a prior owner signature on the back of the front loose endpaper. Inside, a hint of age toning, but no foxing or stains. A solid, quite scarce book by the author considered at that time to be the greatest author of all time. A pencil notation on the title page says he was also chamoion 1856 through 1859, after the publication of this book.
